Terms
Version 2026-10-15.1
Effective date: 14 October 2026
These terms explain how MAF Youth vouchers and membership rewards are issued, used and managed by Masjid Al Farouq (MAF).
By taking part in a reward promotion, you agree to the version of these terms that applies to that promotion when you take part.
Vouchers are a promotional benefit to help members take part in MAF events. They are not cash, a credit balance or a form of payment that can be withdrawn.
These terms apply alongside our Membership Terms and Conditions and any conditions shown for a particular event or promotion.
New members who pay to join a MAF Youth membership receive a joining reward of £15, issued as three £5 vouchers.
The vouchers are added to your account when your membership starts, once your first membership payment has been received. One joining reward is issued for each eligible membership start.
As a new member, your first event is at the normal (non-member) price, and vouchers cannot be used on it. This applies to your own place only, whichever event you book first.
From your second event, you pay the member price and your vouchers can be used.
If you booked your own place on an event at the normal price before you joined, that booking counts as your first event, so the member price and your vouchers apply from your next booking.
Checkout shows when your first event is at the normal price, before you pay.
This rule does not apply to members rejoining under a rejoining offer (section 3), or to memberships granted by MAF staff (section 8).
MAF may offer a different joining reward for a particular event. Where it does, the reward and its conditions will be shown with that event, and they take the place of the standard joining reward. Event-specific rewards do not add to the standard joining reward.
Joining rewards are for new members. Anyone who has held a MAF Youth membership within the 24 months before their new membership starts is not eligible for a joining reward. They may instead be offered a rejoining reward (section 3).
Rewards are subject to the requirements of the membership and the promotion. For memberships with age limits, including MAF Youth, you must meet the age requirements.
MAF may check membership status, booking history, age eligibility and previous rewards before issuing vouchers.
From time to time MAF may offer a rejoining reward to former members.
Under the standard rejoining offer, eligible former members receive one £5 voucher when they rejoin.
To qualify:
The rejoining reward is only available to the people it is sent to. It is not automatically available to every former member, and it can only be received once per offer.
When you rejoin under the offer, you pay the member price from your first booking, and your £5 voucher can be used on any event that accepts vouchers, including the event the offer mentions.
The offer email is your notice of the reward: you will not receive a separate voucher email when you rejoin. Your voucher will be applied for you at checkout.
A rejoining reward does not also entitle you to a joining reward.
Vouchers are applied automatically at checkout when you are signed in to your MAF account. You do not need a code. The discount is shown at checkout before you pay.
Vouchers are personal to the member they are issued to and can only be used towards your own place on an eligible event.
They cannot be used for places booked for guests, family members or anyone else, even in the same booking. Vouchers cannot be transferred, shared, gifted or sold.
Each voucher is used in full on one booking. Vouchers are never part-used, and no change or remaining balance is given.
A voucher is only applied when, after it, at least 30p is still left to pay for your place, which is the smallest amount our card payments accept. A voucher that is not applied for this reason stays in your account for a later booking.
For example, if your place costs £35 and you have eight £5 vouchers, six are applied (£30) and you pay £5. The other two stay in your account.
A voucher can only be used once.
Where you have more than one voucher, those that expire soonest are used first. Several vouchers can be used on the same place, as described in section 4.3.
Vouchers cannot be used:
A voucher being in your account does not mean it can be used for every event. Whether vouchers can be combined with other offers depends on the event or promotion, and any restriction will be shown at checkout.
Vouchers have no cash value. They cannot be exchanged for cash, withdrawn, refunded as money or used outside MAF bookings.
Each voucher expires 24 months after the day it is issued, at the end of that day (11:59 pm UK time). The expiry date is shown when the voucher is issued.
Expired vouchers cannot be used and will not normally be reinstated. MAF may extend a voucher's expiry where a promotion allows it, or where it considers it appropriate.
Vouchers from membership rewards are linked to your membership.
If you cancel your membership, your vouchers stay available until your membership actually ends, subject to their expiry dates. Your vouchers are forfeited only when your membership actually ends, not when you ask to cancel it.
Once your membership has ended, any unused vouchers are cancelled and cannot be used. Starting a new membership does not restore them.
Refunds are considered under the cancellation terms for the booking or event. They are handled by MAF through our payment provider, Stripe.
A refund does not automatically give back vouchers used on the booking. It creates a pending cancellation, which an authorised member of MAF staff reviews. Whether vouchers are given back is decided as part of that review, under the promotion's rules.
If MAF cancels your booking or the event, the vouchers used on that booking are given back at their original value, and they keep their original expiry date. MAF will tell you when your vouchers have been given back.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any refund, remedy or other right you have by law.
When MAF staff grant a membership directly, including complimentary memberships, they may choose whether to issue the joining reward with it. Where they do, the same limits and conditions apply, except that the first-event rule in section 2.2 does not apply.
MAF may make administrative adjustments to correct a reward that was issued wrongly or missed.
MAF may email you about joining, rejoining or other voucher offers only where you have agreed to receive MAF Youth offers. Rejoining offers are only sent to people who have agreed.
You can stop these emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any offer email, or by contacting MAF. This stops future offers but does not cancel vouchers you already have.
MAF sends emails about your membership, bookings and vouchers, for example when vouchers are issued to a new member, given back after a cancellation, or cancelled when a membership ends. These are service messages about your account, not marketing, and you will still receive them if you have opted out of offers.
To run vouchers and rewards, MAF uses:
We use this to check eligibility, issue and apply vouchers, run membership benefits, prevent misuse, handle refunds, contact you about your account and resolve queries.
Your information is handled under UK data protection law and our Privacy Notice, which explains the legal bases, how long we keep information, who processes it for us and your rights.
MAF may investigate suspected misuse of vouchers or promotions, such as fraudulent bookings, false membership details, duplicate accounts, attempts to transfer vouchers or attempts to obtain rewards against these terms.
Where misuse or an administrative error is reasonably established, MAF may withhold, correct, cancel or recover a reward, where this is lawful and proportionate. MAF will consider the evidence and your circumstances, and will decide fairly and consistently with these terms.
MAF may change, pause or end a voucher or reward promotion, including its value, who is eligible and which events it covers. MAF may also update these terms.
Changes are published with a new terms version and effective date. The version recorded with your reward identifies the terms that apply to it.
Changes normally apply from when they are published and do not take away rewards already validly issued, except where the law requires it or in cases of fraud or error. MAF may make changes needed to comply with the law.
If you think a voucher was issued wrongly, was not applied when you expected, or was cancelled or forfeited in error, please contact MAF with your membership or booking reference and a short explanation. We will review it against your booking and membership records, the promotion's rules and the terms version that applies.
